Carl Jones is a gifted songwriter and mandolinist. He is known for his instrumental talent on a number of instruments, as well as for his original songs about the joys and tribulations of day-to-day life in the South. In the 1980’s he played mandolin with Norman and Nancy Blake and James Bryan as part of the Rising Fawn String Ensemble. He is a much-beloved teacher at music camps all over North American and Europe. Carl performs regularly with fiddler Erynn Marshall and with the Bow Benders. He makes his home in Galax, Virginia.
