Dave Dick started playing guitar as a young child, took lessons formally for about eight or nine years, then took up banjo and pursued a career playing bluegrass music. He played in many bands over the years; notably The John Herald Band, Southern Rail, Salamander Crossing, Northern Lights, and currently Blackstone Valley Bluegrass. Known for his banjo playing Dave has become a versatile guitarist, playing bluegrass, jazz, fingerstyle, and recently learning country and rock styles on the Telecaster. For 35 years he has taught banjo and guitar to private students and gained quite a lot of experience. He loves helping players develop their technique and knowledge to become better musicians overall.
