2024 Spring Scholarships

Music Camps North Scholarships

The scholarship deadline for the 2024 camps has passed. Thank you for your interest!

There’s a link to the financial aid application form at the bottom of this page. But before you go there, please read the important information on this page. Thank you!

Thanks to the generosity of our friends, plus our own resources, we offer full and partial scholarships to Mandolin Camp North and Banjo Camp North.

To be eligible for a scholarship, you must attest that it would be a financial hardship to attend camp without a scholarship. Scholarship recipients are chosen by the Board of Directors based on an essay and sound recording that you submit (details are provided on the application form).

Although we ask you to submit a video of yourself playing an instrument, we don’t grant scholarships based only on playing ability — you’re coming to camp to foster that. We give out aid based on your financial need and how you will “pay it forward,” taking what you gain from camp and cultivating it.  In the essay please tell us about the benefits you hope to gain by attending camp, your motivation, and your interest in and love of acoustic string music and how they relate to our mission. If you are interested in a specific named scholarship please tell us in the essay.

You need not be registered for a camp to apply for a scholarship. Here’s how it works:

  • If you are currently registered for camp and are awarded a scholarship, we will refund all or part of your payment.
  • If you are not registered and are awarded a scholarship, we will send you a coupon code to use when you register to cover all or part of the cost of attending camp.

Music Camps North Inc. does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, disability or genetic information.

If we award a scholarship to a person under age 18, that person’s parent or guardian must be present on the camp premises whenever the under-18 camper is on the premises. The parent or guardian will be charged the amount the camp is charged by the conference facility for the parent or guardian’s meals and lodging if applicable.
