Steve Roy
Mandolin

Steve Roy is a multi-instrumentalist from Eliot ME who plays and teaches upright bass, mandolin, fiddle, ukulele, and guitar. He currently performs with the Old Hat Stringband, High Range, and the East Bayside Bluegrass Collective of Portland, ME. As a sideman, he has toured internationally with some of the top acts in the bluegrass/acoustic music world, including Laurie Lewis, Molly Tuttle, John Reischman, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, and many others. He is the Program Director at the Nimblefingers Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Workshops in Sorrento, BC and has taught at music camps throughout the US and Canada. He is on the faculty at Portsmouth Music and Arts Center in Portsmouth NH and 317 Main Community Music Center in Yarmouth ME. Steve also is a violin maker and currently works in the violin shop of Jonathan Cooper.
